One of the most important ways both you and your dog can stay healthy and fit is get lots of exercise. Exercise is key to both physical and mental well being for both of you as well. Exercise is also a key part of effective training for your dog. I love both our indoor and outdoor training, especially being outside with our dogs…although it was a bit cold this past weekend for the first day of Spring!
We humans talk about exercise all the time don’t we. We ‘hit the gym’, ‘go for a run’, ‘workout’. We do it to loose weight, get stronger, get and stay healthy. Well it’s the same for our dogs. Exercise helps build and maintain strong bones, joints and muscles. And who wants their dog to be obese?
Speaking of obesity, there’s the totally inspiring story of Eric O’Grady. He was morbidly obese himself…then he adopted a dog and lost 140 lbs. Now both enjoy a healthy lifestyle. To hear his story, here is a link to the video on Facebook: Eric O’Grady weight loss. So up and at it both of you…time to get some exercise!
